Recognition programs and incentives.

Looking at the Sturmgrenadier site reminded me of something that we did in a guild I used to be in. What do you all think of the following. Yes, I know we really don't have enough people to be worrying about this yet, but what else am I going to do at work with all this free time?

If you can think of more recognitions post them. All I ask is that they do not copy a recognition already in place. (i.e. There's no ribbon for becoming a Full Member as the rank shield already denotes that.)

Legionnaire of the Month
The Legion of Myth (SWG) General Order YYMMDD-# authorized this citation. This citation can be submitted by any officer (JrO or higher) in regards to any subordinate in his command. The citations are due the 5th of the month following the month the citation represents. (i.e. A submission for June must be in by the 5th of July.) The winning citation is to be decided by the GL, XO and 2O and is to be awarded the 15th of the month following the month the citation represents.

Submissions should include the following categories:
- Leadership and job performance in character class/profession
- Significant self-improvement
- Leadership qualities (in and out of character)
- Other Accomplishments
- Articulate how the individual is a positive representative of the Legion of Myth.

- Legion of Myth (SWG) Longevity Ribbon

The Legion of Myth (SWG) General Order YYMMDD-# authorized this ribbon. It is awarded to all members of the Legion of Myth who complete six months of active service within the Legion of Myth (SWG). Active service includes in game and out of game activities such as logging into the game and in character message board activity.


- Legion of Myth (SWG) Recognition Ribbon

The Legion of Myth (SWG) General Order YYMMDD-# authorized this ribbon. It is awarded to named individual Legion of Myth members whose outstanding acts do not warrant a different ribbon or medal. An example would be Legionnaire of the Month.


- Legion of Myth (SWG) Organizational Excellence Ribbon

The Legion of Myth (SWG) General Order YYMMDD-# authorized this ribbon. It is awarded to Legion of Myth (SWG) internal organization. Every four months, on April 1st, August 1st, and December 1st, this award is presented to one Junior Officer and his subordinates for outstanding organizational excellence. Every six months, on February 1st and August 1st this award is presented to one Senior Officer for outstanding organizational excellence.


- Legion of Myth (SWG) Achievement Ribbon

The Legion of Myth (SWG) General Order YYMMDD-# authorized this ribbon. It is awarded to Legion of Myth (SWG) personnel for outstanding achievement or meritorious service rendered both in-game and out of game specifically on behalf of the Legion of Myth (SWG).


- Legion of Myth (SWG) Commendation Ribbon

The Legion of Myth (SWG) General Order YYMMDD-# authorized this ribbon. Awarded to members serving within the Legion of Myth (SWG) who shall have distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement and service rendered both in-game and out of game specifically on behalf of the Legion of Myth (SWG). The degree of merit must be distinctive, though it need not be unique.


- Legion of Myth (SWG) Meritorious Service Ribbon

The ribbon is awarded for meritorious achievement and service that is incontestably exceptional and of magnitude that clearly places the individual above his peers. This medal is given to a maximum of one (1) Senior Officer (to include GL, XO & 2O), (1) Junior Officer, and/or (1) Full Member per six (6) months. However, it is not a requirement that it be awarded at all. This should be an extremely difficult ribbon to attain.

Subsequent Awards
A red ‘pip’ is awarded for each additional award of a ribbon.
A white ‘pip’ indicates 5 (five) red ‘pips’.
No more than 4 (four) ‘pips’ may be worn on the ribbon.

Please lets make the Ribbons really hard to achieve so it actually means something when you have one attached.

I agree, they should require support and sacrifice on the part of the player. Power Leveling a friend does not get a ribbon. However, power leveling 10 characters for the span of a week while gaining no-XP himself could be worth a ribbon.

The first three are relatively easy to get ...

1. (Legion of Myth (SWG) Longevity Ribbon) - All you need is 6 months active guild support.

2. (Legion of Myth (SWG) Recognition Ribbon) - This is the generic 'you done good' ribbon. (Though it still should be reserved for outstanding achievement.

3. (Legion of Myth (SWG) Organizational Excellence Ribbon) Every 4 months someone is going to get this one.

4, 5 and 6 (The Achievement, Commendation and Meritorious Service) on the other hand will be harder to receive.

In all cases they are approved by us three. Someone can put in hours and hours into a project or an issue, but if it yields no results is that worthy of a ribbon? I don't think so ... effort AND results are the key.

It also depends on the size and quality of the guild. With 4 active peopleI don't see us handing out too many ribbons. However, if we had 100 people, I could see us handing them out weekly.

(Who is going to write me up for an MSR ribbon? LOL! Just kidding all ... even we Generals can joke, too.) ;D

Will the ribbons become part of the SBU, or someting else?

Looking to put them in the signature block ... never really thought of adding them directly to the SBU, but I suppose that could be done, too.

They will, at a minimum, be on the web page under your character's name. I only have mine up at the moment, but I have 10,842 different things I need to get set-up in regards to web pages that I'm doing things as I have time.

Oh, the MSR and OER will be changed soon to match our color scheme. LoM ribbons will be orange/yellow/red ... and WoW ribbons will be - whatever they decide.
