I have been out in the field for the last week now and I have only seen Kodoss on. Where is everyone? It was fun hanging around you all when I first joined, but recently it has been [glow=red,2,300]dead.[/glow] I have been tring to recuite people but no one is interested in the guild since we are not that active in the game (at least that is what they are telling me). All they see is Kodoss and myself on they are all think we are a 2 person guild and are going to other guilds. From Gen. Callandryn's E-mail the other day I would say he is going to be busy for a while and with Allahdra I have no clue what is keeping her busy. I am going to keep plugging away for the time being at external afairs, But I keep getting E-Mails asking when we are going to be set up and it is getting enoying telling them I dont know I am waiting for my commander to place the hall. Well I hope to see you on sooner or later. Love, Shayla Srarlight

Aye, I haven't been on much either. Mostly just logged in to find no one on ... maybe runa mission or two ... then logoff.
For me my problems are stemming from: - Work issues. (Long story, but 60+ hour weeks put a damper on play time) - Girlfriend issues. (Grrrrr.) - Webpage/Graphics issues. (I'm trying my best to get the LoM pages up, but when I get a reply from Order of Officer and House of Scions member once every three days or so ... sometimes not at all ... it slows the process greatly!) - Lastly I have to agree with Rooks, SWG is really boring the hell out of me. (Just tell me what more there is to do that grab two missions, rinse, repeat ... please! When I only have 1 hour to play I tend to decide to do something else with that hour ... like sleep or work on a Flash intro or something.)
What I NEED is for Kodoss and Shayla (our two most active members at the moment) to get in touch with Nafzib (via e-mail) and talk to him about our recruitment / retention problems. We're trying to light a fire under ALL of LoM at the moment (not just the SWG portion). I've got the webpage issues handled, now he needs ideas from people like you two to help with in-game (notably SWG) recruitment issues.
He needs to know things like: - What fun events can we as LoM do to get our name shown? - What can LoM offer as a guild to the SWG playerbase? For example, in EQ people looked for guilds to group/raid together. - We need to set up an advertizing campaign targeted at what people want/need in a PA without going against our ideals as an RP/Lore guild.

I'm glad I got over here before I got volunteered for something...
Seriously though, get in touch with me and I can tell you what you have to do to get people excited. What I need is one or two of you who are motivated and will put in the time to do the legwork to get this off the ground.
I'll just say this, the key is to reach the greatest number of people possible. For everyone 100 who see it, maybe 2 or 3 will join.

hehe ... sorry.
I forgot who I had talked to about all of this. I thought I had talked to you (Nafzib) about this ... I guess I was referring to my post above in which I mentioned it to Kodoss and Shayla. So that e-mail I sent saying I had talked to you about this ... forget it. ;D
Life has made me sooooooooo confused of late I'm forgetting which way is up.
Anyhoo ... I'm still here ... I didn't mean to volunteer you for anything. But you tend to have good ideas; and right now Shayla and Kodoss have the best view of LoM in the game. I was hoping that through you some fresh ideas and some invigoration could occur.

No problem, I have no problem helping with this. Just know that I don't play SW:G so some of the details I am a bit fuzzy on. As for ideas, I don't ever seem to run out of those. Your jobs will be to tell me what will work and what doesn't.
First thing is first. Where do you guys sit on levels? What abilities do you have to help random people? How many people are in game? What is the communication system in this game. Do they have /ooc channels like EQ or is there some other way of getting information out to a wide area?
Lets get these people in here!

There are no levels in SWG. I am a Pistoleer ... which puts me at a moderate ability to kill things. I also have some scouting ability, but nothing that would be useful. My job right now is to kill things. My medic/entertainer abilities are at extreme basic level. I think we have 6 active members. The comm system in SWG is amazing. However, I am against using shouts or ooc unless it's an emergency. To me those are spam channels and I turn them off ... it's not 'dignified' for an RP guild to be spamming in ooc and/or shouting. If others want to do that they can ... as long as it's in character and/or does nat make the guild look bad. Here is a great place to post info: www.swg-rp.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.plAs a side note, if you haven't seen it I really like Aja's idea in the chatter forum.

Hey everyone, i would like to add my impressions. At the moment , we have a fundamental problem. Most of the people playing on Starsider regularly DO have a guild. You say that the game is boring for you at the moment . The fun comes with being in a guild actually. I am getting so many requests from people joining their guild, who cannot understand i am not in a guild yet , but see me on everyday and i am getting out of ideas what to tell them. Just saturday i helped GCU (galactic commerce union ) defend their HQ against a rebel attack from Anchorhead when the HQ was vulnerable for a short amount of time (which reminded me of SB). We had like 50 - 60 people on each side and i had the fun of my life. Callandryn and you others , i really understand you have issues at the moment , but i NEVER see anyone on, except shayla. What can i tell people to convince them joining us? Yea we have a great website, great people , our leader is general callandryn , but unfortunately the game bores the hell out of him and except of one other noone shows up. I have no idea how to recruit people , being a pro human guild and most of the players having a guild doesnt make things easier. Actually i am getting tired of going everywhere alone, having to do the most fun things in this game without my guildmates. Sorry for my rant , but i feel left alone I am playing for around 2 months now, i have done for the guild what i could, but i feel like beating a dead horse at the moment. I am not the kind of guy who leaves his people alone, but to be honest , i have already considered joining another guild, because i cannot see we will ever get this started.

Max, there is a point at which roleplay has to be sacrificed in order to make things work. On a tabletop game you wouldn't want your half-elf rogue explaining how to throw dice or what AC he has, but that is an integral part of the game. /ooc channels are used to get information out in a real game environment so that the game can continue on. Kodoss is correct. There is no reason to play a game unless you see some sort of advancement. At this point, LoM simply needs people. The question of "Why should I join you guys?" should not be because we roleplay, but because we play well. The roleplay is what makes us unique.

Advisor Nafzib, For the time being I will concede the point. The argument that you bring up has plagued me since I started playing MMOs. Although I disagree with the philosophy of 'Recruit'em all and weed out the bad' (... as it brings in a whole new set of problems ...) I guess it's the only way at the moment. The best guilds I have worked with and/or been in have been very similar to what we have now ... except they had people. They had a recruitment process to weed out the bad before they became members and they enforced their standards at all time. I will be making a post in the LoM main boards (Order of Officers section) so look for that soon. LtCol Kodoss, Give it a bit more time. Can you give LoM one more month ... time for us to recruit and work a couple of events? If we don’t have things turned around by then I’ll understand you leaving. As for the Human Supremacy part, I won’t budge on this. The Empire is a pro-human club. Using that and our own background story I cannot in good conscience budge on that issue. Remember, a non-human can be a Full Member, just not an Officer. We can talk later about the potential of a non-human becoming a JrO, but ONLY ... and I mean ONLY ... if we get a bunch of people in the guild and this player character is so outstanding that it would be impossible to say no (kinda like Admiral Thrawn). Lt Shayla, I understand that you are doing Air Force things at the moment. But when you have the time, please post the following text on the various Imperial Message boards, via in-game e-mail to your PoCs for various guilds, and even the Starsider RP boards. The Legion of Myth is looking to conduct or become involved in player made role-play events. Currently our numbers are too small to conduct such an operation on our own, but we seek the help of Imperals and Rebels alike - depending on the scenario.
I will not bore you with our ideas now, but I’d certainly love to talk further about this in the very near future. Or you can contact any of the people below if you are unable to reach me.
If you are a Player Association who plans and conducts such events, please contact any of the people below as we’d love to become more involved in the role-playing aspects of Star Wars Galaxies and its community.
Thank you, Lieutenant Shayla Starlight Commander External Relations Legion of Myth

It won’t be as ‘Flashy’ as I wanted ... but win lose or draw it WILL be done! (Everyone cross your fingers that Q-Net will be good to me!) Chancellor Edict 031014-1The intro story is going to become official Lore in its current state. However, it can be subject to further modification at a later date. By rule the House of Scions has 10 days to vote on the issue to repeal this decision.Once the web pages are complete, I will ... I WILL ... be active in the game. However, if I continue to logon and see no one on myself, this will become difficult. Chancellor Edict 031014-2I am putting a temporary stay on the 30-day recruitment process!! By rule the House of Scions has 10 days to vote on the issue to repeal this decision. For the next 30-days, all new recruits will only be required to: - Create an account and post on the Message Board. (This is to ensure the player knows where to go for information ... and to ensure the player isn’t a ‘d00d’). - Fill out the Application form on the web page. - Be referenced by one (1) officer. (All the Officer has to do is make a quick post saying he/she talked to this person and that you recommend him/her for LoM service) - Pick out a SBU picture. (Remember, no Boba Fetts or Vaders. A good place to start for pictures is http://www.epilogue.net) PASS THE WORD!!!

Greetings again,
callandryn, sure will i give it one more months, i am just glad we finally bring some life in here. Before anything else . YOU are my guildmates and it s YOu i want to share the cool moments in the game with. How to have fun in the game? There are so many opportunities in the game aside from powerleveling . If we want to get involved into the starsider community we should be present on player events. Every guild member should check the starsider boards on starwarsgalaxies.com for news and other stuff. There is also a thread where guild post the events they have planned. I think to spread out our name we should participate in some of these. I am going to look out for LOM hopefuls very intensive again.
/salute

The new LoM-WoW web page is up: Click hereI also updated the LoM main web page ... Clck HereSorry, but I'm dead tired after working on these ALL DAY! I know there are a couple of 'issues'. - #1 - Flash intro could be better. - #2 - Top links on the LoM main page open up in the left frame. I'll fix that tomorrow IF I get time! Else I'll get to it ASAP. Oh, and I didn't even get to the SWG page. Bleh.
