After a long drawn out fight with reality, I have finally fixed the majority of the problems that were preventing me from playing SWG!!!
I know you've heard this before, but ... I'M BACK!!!
Let me quickly explain the four biggest issues I was having.
#1: I didn't have an operational computer.
I built a P4 3.2GHz system here, but the motherboard I had (Gigabyte 8KNXP) would not boot to my SATA Hard Drives. (No more of that IDE crap for me ... hehe). I finally broke down and spent 98 Kuwaiti Dinars ($300+) to get an ASUS Motherboard. 6 Hours after purchasing that, I was logged in and playing SWG!
#2: Girlfriend was usurping time. (Or so I thought).
A misunderstanding between us took away a lot of time I could have used for updating signatures, editing the web page, fixing the 3.2 system, etc. This has been remedied. No, I won't be playing 7 days a week. But she said she'd kick my ass if I didn't play at least 4 - 5 days a week. ;D
#3: Overtime at work.
For you people in the states, we work 48 hour weeks out here in Kuwait ... and that's not couting drive/security check time. Added on that was overtime (leading to 60+ hour weeks). Except for the potential Morale Call, the overtime issue is over now.
#4: Kuwaiti Internet
Well, this one has not been resolved. <sigh> However, with the OTHER issues taken care of, this shouldn't cause too many problem. But I wonder, how the hell does an entire country have Internet woes?
So, all I have to to is remake all of my Keymaps, Macros and Shortcuts and I'll be ready to go.
On a side note, when I did finally log in I was inmmediately killed by a rebel. This rebel (A LONE/SINGLE PLAYER) came to the Imperial outpost near Mos Espa, killed all the guards then killed all the players. Ummm ... I know I'm not a maxed out characer or anything here, but how the hell did one player do all of that?
She was brawling to fight so I have to assume she was a Teras Kasi Artist (or however it's spelled).
Okay, I have to take care of some real life issues for today (Thursday), but I will be back on and ready to go on Friday!!
Shayla, I got your 52,000 in-game e-mails. hehe I'll address them the next time I logon. (Yes, Entertainers are perfectly welcome to join LoM as long as they serve the Empire.) In fact, I'd step out on a limb and guess that Entertainers (on average) are probably more willing to RP ... so bring them aboard! (You know the process.)
