Got this from Slicer HQ - very helpful
/find is your friend
do not attack anything red you will die unless you are in a group. (Ok.. so this seems rather obvious)
/bug - use this for bug reporting. This ensures that the development team can get right on the problem.
ctrl + L turns on your lightsource (when it's dark out there).
Num Lock is for auto run
use "tab" to cycle through available targets. The button above it (~) will bring up the options for that target. (ie. attack, loot, converse, examine, etc). They are numbered, 1:attack, etc. This is a quick way to target in combat, or even just to see what the target is.
Mask scent is your good friend
When in a group don't rush to /harvest every kill. You WILL get tagged as a harvest ninja and might have a hard time getting groups (This is simple mmorpg ettiquete.)
Do local delivery missions from the mission terminals. They're the best ways to learn the layout of each town plus you earn some credits to boot.
When surveying label all your waypoints. You can email waypoints to other players (drag to Attatchments in email) You can also Trade Waypoints same as goods. Very handy if you are working with other players.
sometimes the ones you may not think are right for the team can help out in big ways.
Interfaction groups are just as good is faction only groups....
sit on the med bay floor to fix your wounds faster even if no pc's are around.
after you die there is a waypoint in your data pad , for your body.
If your character is killed, and your body is covered up by somthing, use /corpse it will come to the top so you can loot your body.
If you start attacking from a prone position, you can get off 3 shots before a mob notices you and starts attacking. From kneeling, you get 2 free shots.
