too bad for me. pretty boring actually... i'm so broke actually i couldn't do anything if i even wanted to. i think i had more money in my pocket when i was 12 getting allowance from my parents. so, i played CivIII and Splinter Cell. i don't have the money til the 15th to get my DSL started, which will probably get hooked up about 2-3 weeks after (as long as the village i'm in doesn't have too many subscribers, then i may have to wait longer...) so in a nutshell, here's my idea. Aja has been reported missing and unaccounted for during the past several months. Last time he checked in, he was headed out to yet another hunting trip into the deserts of Mos Eisley... Was it the jawa? the tusken raiders? who knows. but this is unlike him not to check in. soo, when i do come back, maybe i'll sit my ass down in the middle of a rebel camp and say i was captured and see if you guys are willing to bail my ass out. well, i'll keep up updated on my DSL problems.

heh to be Loremaster you have to beat me in SW knowledge, no not. Heh its fine with me, I really didn't have anything to write about (we haven't done much in the way of storyline stuff) heh I also don't need 2 jobs =P

ooooh, hope i'm not stepping on any toes there kedryn, but the loremaster sure sounds more fun than recruiter...
as for recruiter
my knowledge of star wars pretty much comes from the movies. the only books i've read were the Phantom Menace and Tales from Jaba's Palace, and part of another tales book which i can't quite remember right now...
so as a "loremaster" (and maybe questmaster?)--i may be a little lacking in background story and current game content since i haven't gotten to play much but i can easily delve into our own storyline as well as the current ongoing storylines of SWG and communicate them as much as possible to the players via the message board and in-game.
again, i won't really be able to function until i get my computer, but perhaps i can put a blurb or two in when i get the chance at work.

oh ya, one more point...
just a suggestion, since recruiter is the type of job that can't be done without and we'd be hindered say, if that person were on vacation or MIA like Aja...
In the Fremen Knights, the guild i belonged to in Asheron's, we just had a recruitment policy that indicated that all members were required to advertise especially in low membership times, but the interested parties had to log into our recruitment message board room, and post a request (similar to ours.) then as soon as 1, 2, or 3 senior members replied to his message indicating that they met the fella and would like to see him as a member, then he was in and had the choice to pledge to any member he chose...
(1-3 depending on how stiff our standards were at the time--stiff during peak membership periods and 3 senior members were required)
and any negative replies from a senior member meant automatic disqualification for that request.
i guess this system kinda just alleviated the burden of the recruitment job from any one person.
another idea however, thinking that we wish to keep our group a tight group of about 50 or so (or perhaps i'm assuming) is to roleplay our recruitment... where 3 existing members (at least one should be senior) meet with the interested party in a cantina or something, and discuss politics etc in a roleplaying format... to see how they roleplay and if they take it seriously.
just a few thoughts.

Loremaster is more of a Historian than anything else. I thought I had a write-up on this, but either I can’t seem to find it, or I’m simply out of my mind. The principle job of the Loremaster is to turn the sometimes mundane - and often fun - events that LoM takes part of and put them into an RP context/story. Let’s start with the boring part. All SrOs are supposed to be typing up a Weekly Activities Report. What I have done in the past is take that WAReport and turned it into a public address announcement on our SitRep page. You can see examples of it HERE - just scroll down a little and you’ll see what I mean. (I think the best example is the one just below the July 10th post.) Also, the Loremaster is responsible for remembering important dates: - Date a new recruit became a Full Member - Date Kodoss was awarded Legionnaire of the Month and his Recognition Ribbon - Date we set up our PA Hall - Date Callandryn got drunk and was caught dry humping his droid. (You can see that on the next ‘Generals Gone Wild’!) The more exciting part is putting together stories for what we do in game. Did a group of LoMers get together on Endor for an Ewok hunt? Sure, all we did was group up, kill some digitally fuzzy people, and move on. But it’s the Loremaster’s job to make the story exciting ensure it follows the continuity of the Star Wars universe and our Lore. A quick example: Three notional excerpts from an Ewok mission: We received our mission orders and readied ourselves for the task ahead. Lieutenant Colonel Kodoss, our Tactical Commander, took charge of the operation and ensured that we were all prepared. After some words of encouragement and the nod from the General, we stepped into the wooded hell that is Endor.
...
It was like those blasted Ewoks were the forest. Out of nowhere, or rather out of everywhere, boulders and arrows and sticks flew with deadly accuracy in our direction. Every tree - every flower, rock and log - all seemed to join in the efforts of these Ewoks.
We laid waste to meters upon meters of foliage with our blasters and AT-STs, but those fuzzy demons just kept coming. I saw the General drop. I wanted to rush to him for some immediate medical attention, but I couldn’t move. A spear pierced my side and I lay in no better position than my leader. Bleeding to death, I could only hope that this - dying to a bunch of oversized children’s toys - was not the way it would end.
...
Endor is hell! Sure, we all lived and even completed the mission - we always do. But I think that if the General ever orders another mission to that accursed moon, I’d rather suffer the Emperor’s wrath.Of course the full story would be longer and probably better (hey, what do you expect for a 2 minute brainstorm? Hehe), but you get the idea. Did we gather together with other Imperial forces to defend the Emperor’s Retreat from some Rebel scum? You can bet that I’ll be expecting a story on that!! Of course, a story doesn’t have to be written every time we group up to take on faction missions ... but there’s nothing saying that it can’t either. Personally I envisioned us having two to three stories a week. Right now I’d be happy with one story every two weeks until we build up our forces. In short, the job entails remembering (writing down/keeping a log of) dates and turning the mundane aspects of logging in to and playing SWG into an exciting (pro-LoM / pro-Empire propaganda) story. As with ALL SrO positions, you work through Col Kedryn and LtCol Kodoss and they through me. (I know, you’re in the Air Force and understand the chain of command. I just wanted to remind you that you’re not alone in this position ... and remind Kedryn that he’s still got his hands in the Loremaster pot ... hehe) I’m still looking at how I’d like to see recruitment to go. Recruitment has always been my weakest part. I’m good at talking to people once I meet them (or on an organizational basis), but I’m not good at introductions. That’s one of the reasons I solo in games, because frankly I don’t like initiating communication with people ... hehe General Callandryn out.

k, sounds great. I'll gladly get started on it as soon as possible... i'll be going by the DSL office today or tomorrow to get on the list. *crosses his fingers*
perhaps i'll be able to incorporate one of my domains into the process. i still have my old Celestial Knights domain (though the site is down since a few years ago) and of course my something2do.org site which is down since i was in the middle of switching hosts while i was moving and can't finish the process until i get online again. if i use my own domains, i can put up content easily that you could just link to from yours.
til then, i'll keep you updated and will be thinking of ideas.
